UE professor found stabbed dead in Bulacan house
Police are investigating the alleged murder of a University of the East-Manila professor after he was found stabbed dead in Bulacan.
According to a report from "News TV Live" on Sunday, the body of the victim, Dr. Jose Randy Velayo, 48, was found with 60 stab wounds in his house in Barangay Liwas in Meycauayan town.
An initial investigation showed Velayo had three male visitors last Friday night, with whom he drank and videoked with. Police now consider the three as suspects.
However, authorities are still facing a blank wall as to the motive for the crime because the victim's valuables remained untouched.
A kitchen knife believed to have been used as the murder weapon was recovered from the scene of the crime, the police said.
The victim's remains were brought to Gapan, Nueva Ecija, where his wake would be held, even as the police continue investigating the crime and taking efforts to track the suspects.
Meanwhile, members of the UE student body are offering their condolences to the family of the professor and vowed to seek justice for him.
In a post on its Twitter account, the UE-University Student Council vowed to seek justice for the professor.
