1 suspected drug pusher killed, 4 arrested in anti-drug ops sting in Bulacan
A suspected drug pusher was killed while four others were arrested in a police anti-drug operation in Bulacan Wednesday evening.
Bulacan police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives conducted the operation at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Barangay Tuktukan in Guiguinto town in Bulacan.
Killed was Jun Dapat, 36, a resident of Barangay Ilang-Ilang, after he allegedly tried to fire at the PDEA and police operatives.
Arrested in the operation were:
- Edwin Enriquez, 42, of Laura St., Barangay Panginay in Balagtas, Bulacan
- Eduardo Galvez, 34, of Laura St., Barangay Panginay
- William Hipolito, 35, of Barangay Tuktukan, Guiguinto
- Manuel Manliclic, 41, of Barangay Tuktukan
An investigation showed the four were arrested after selling a sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) to an undercover agent for P3,000.- Eduardo Galvez, 34, of Laura St., Barangay Panginay
- William Hipolito, 35, of Barangay Tuktukan, Guiguinto
- Manuel Manliclic, 41, of Barangay Tuktukan
But while police were frisking and securing the suspects, Dapat pulled out a handgun and tried to run, prompting one of the policemen, PO2 Rey, to chase him.
Dapat allegedly fired at Rey but missed. Rey returned fire, fatally hitting Dapat in the upper right chest.
Recovered from Dapat were one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, a wallet with P4,506, and a cal-.38 revolver.
Seized from the four other suspects were:
- a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu
- P3,000 cash
- three plastic sachets of suspected shabu
- P3,000 cash
- three plastic sachets of suspected shabu
