Police raid alleged Bulacan sextortion establishment

Officers from the Philippine National Police's Anti-Cybercrime Group served a search warrant on an establishment in Norzagaray town, Bulacan, in which sextortionists allegedly operated from.

According to a report on GMA 7 news program “24 Oras”, the establishment was masquerading as a call center.

However, officers found no one in the office except caretaker, James Bendano, and 18 computers neatly arranged.

The establishment's suppoosed owner, Edcel Perez, and six other suspects where not at the premises.

Bendano, meanwhile, said he knew the establishment to be a call center.

The computers were examined and were found to contain data on an adult dating website and records of online chats.

In a second raid, this time at a residence said to belong to one of the alleged sextortionists, police found a kit allegedly used for illegal drugs, and two women, one of whom admitted to engaging in sex-chats.

The female employee said they would seduce victims, then record them when they stripped. She, however, insisted that  no one was ever blackmailed. — Joel Locsin/DVM, GMA News
