45 fishermen from Navotas arrested in Cavite for trawl fishing

A total of 45 fishermen from Navotas City were arrested in Cavite province for trawl fishing.

Police caught the 45 using nets with small openings, radio dzBB's Luisito Santos reported early Thursday.

The report said such nets may harm the environment and damage corals.

Each of the fishermen face a fine of P5,000. Their bancas were also confiscated, the report added. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
