Salceda declares Albay ‘APEC ready’ a week before preparatory meet

Albay over the weekend declared itself ready to host one of the events in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit that the Philippines will host in 2015.

 

In posts on his social media accounts, Albay Governor Jose Salceda said the province has prepared for the APEC Informal Senior Officials’ Meeting (ISOM) set for next week.

 

On his Twitter account, the governor as early as Saturday night said: "APEC-ready ALBAY!"

 

He also posted photos of the provincial capitol and the "Karangahan Albay Green Christmas 2014".

 

Salceda also posted photos of the cleanup drive along Cagsawa Bridge with Barangay Busay officials to prepare for ISOM .

 

Tourism workers were also given a reception and guiding technique seminar for the APEC-ISOM.

 

The APEC ISOM will be held at the Oriental Hotel in Legazpi City in Albay on Dec. 8 and 9. According to the Palace, the ISOM is a venue for the setting of priorities of the 21 APEC member economies for the Philippine hosting of APEC 2015. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
