Toll-free access to Rosales-Urdaneta section of TPLEx over the holidays

(Updated 12:13 a.m., Dec. 20) The 14-km long second section of the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEx) will be opened toll free to motorists from Dec. 20 to Jan. 20, 2015 to help ease holiday traffic.

In a press statement, San Miguel Corporation said the section is also being opened for travelers headed to Manila for Pope Francis' visit from Jan. 15 to 19, 2015.

 

According to a report on "Balita Pilipinas", the second section connects Barangay Tumana West in Rosales town to Barangay Anonas in Urdaneta City, both in Pangasinan.
 

Opening this section of the TPLEX will help ease traffic on the stretch of MacArthur Highway that connects Rosales to Villasis town, the report said.

 

Mark Gabriel Dumol, president of concessionaire Private Infra Development Corp. said in the report that the second section will only be opened temporarily.

 

"Hindi pa talaga fully complete siya because hindi pa namin nailalagay yung last layer of asphalt," Dumol said of the section, construction of which began in February. — JDS, GMA News
