Seniang floods affect 13K families in Negros Occidental

lFloods from Tropical Storm Seniang (Jangmi) affected at least 13,000 families in Negros Occidental province in Western Visayas.

Sixteen areas in the province were affected by the floods, GMA Bacolod's Stephanie Azucena reported Wednesday.

Affected areas included 90 barangays in:

Cities: San Carlos, Escalante, Talisay, Bago, Kabankalan, Silay, Sipalay
Towns: Pulupandan, Valladolid, Pontevedra, Isabela, San Enrique, Himamaylan, Binalbagan, Hinigiran, Cauayan

At least 11 houses were destroyed while 83 were damaged.

Floods also hit parts of Bacolod City, affecting some 200 families. The city government plans to expand waterways to address the problem.

But as of Wednesday morning, the local social welfare office finished distributing relief goods to the affected families.
