Fire destroys CamSur classroom, sports gear, musical instruments

A classroom and newly-acquired sports equipment and musical instruments were destroyed in a fire at the Sipocot North Central School in Camarines Sur, GMA Bicol reported on Thursday. Probers pegged property damage at P1.2 million.

The fire started at 11 a.m. and quickly spread, GMA Bicol's Avril Daja reported Thursday.

According to teachers at the school, the newly acquired sports equipment and musical instruments were stored in the affected classroom.

Probers said an electrical short circuit may have caused the fire.

Twenty-six students who used the classroom for their classes may have to be relocated elsewhere. — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
