Classes remain suspended in Bicol school due to Seniang floods

Classes in the New Year have yet to resume for some students in at least one school in Bicol, as it remained flooded in the wake of bad weather conditions brought by Tropical Storm Seniang in late December.

The Nabua National High School in Nabua town in Camarines Sur still suspended classes as of Monday as it was still flooded, GMA Bicol's Mike Biando reported Tuesday.

As of Tuesday, principal Ben Saluna said most of the classrooms were ready to accommodate students.

Seniang, which left at least 56 people dead, had brought non-stop rain over parts of Bicol last week.

Because of the flooding at the school, students there are getting an unexpected extension in their Christmas vacation.

School teachers and students hurried to clean parts of the school.

— Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
