UP Mindanao lines up activities for 20th anniversary in February
The University of the Philippines Mindanao based in Davao City has lined up activities to mark its 20th anniversary this coming February.
Each of the four weeks of February will be dedicated to a different aspect, all under the theme “Ika-baynte saulugon! UPMin, Padayon!”
In a website post, the UP Mindanao said the four consecutive weeks starting February 2 are designated as:
- Humanities and Social Sciences Week
- Science and Mathematics Week
- Students’ Week
- School of Management Week
All these weeks will have appropriate recreational and academic events open to the public.
"Festivities begin on February 2 with the UP Fiesta opening program featuring performances and tours for visiting high school students. For the celebrations, everyone is invited to join the song-jingle composition contest, and the souvenir design contest, the awarding of which will be held on February 2," the UP added.
Meanwhile, the main academic symposium, Science for Society, will be on February 16, with Science Undersecretary Amelia Guevara as keynote speaker.
Other activities include:
Feb. 28: UP Alumni Association-Davao Oblation Plaza bayanihan construction project for alumni of all UP campuses, and their families and friends
