3 inmates escape Batangas police station

Three inmates at the Tuy municipal police station in Batangas have escaped detention, allegedly taking advantage of the deployment of police guards for election-related duties. GMA News' Flash Report on Sunday said two of the escapees had murder cases, while the third fugitive had a theft case. They allegedly bolted prison by breaking the metal prison bars. Many of the prison watchers in the area were sent to man Commission on Elections (Comelec) checkpoints when the jailbreak occurred. - GMANews.TV
