Ermita sees defeat for most TU bets in Batangas

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita on Wednesday said that most administration senatorial bets did not do well in his province and could be defeated by Genuine Opposition (GO) candidates. Ermita, Lakas-CMD regional chairman for Southern Tagalog, said the situation for Team Unity (TU) is “not very good" because “Batangas is too near Metro Manila for them to know what’s going on here." The Palace official said his prediction of poll results is 7-4-1 in favor of GO bets. He said he was told by leaders in the camp of Lipa City mayor Vilma Santos-Recto, who is running for governor, that GO candidates have the majority in Batangas. In local elections , Ermita said Recto “looks like a runaway winner" in the gubernatorial race, with a lead of at least 165,000 votes which is “quite big." He said there were rumors that reelectionist Gov. Armando Sanchez, an opposition candidate, is about to concede to Santos-Recto. Meanwhile, Ermita said it is still an “uphill battle" for his son Edwin, who is running for vice governor. He said his daughter Elenita Ermita-Buhain, who is running for congresswoman for her third term, is “a virtual winner." - GMANews.TV
