Plaza reelected as Agusan Sur solon

PATIN-AY, Agusan del Sur - Reelectionist Rep. Rodolfo Rodrigo “Ompong" Galido Plaza has been declared the winner in the congressional race for the lone district of Agusan del Sur, the Commission on Elections said Friday. Plaza was accompanied by his wife Shirley Pelaez Plaza during the proclamation ceremony led by Agusan del Sur Provincial Election Supervisor Francisco Pobe past 5 p.m. Thursday. The Comelec also proclaimed Plaza’s half brother Democrito Diayon Plaza II as Butuan City mayor-elect, Dindo Sanchez as vice-mayor elect and Jose Aquino II as Butuan City congressman-elect. The proclamation of the winners was held at the Sangguniang Panglungsod Session Hall at the City Hall Compound in the city. Rodrigo Plaza garnered 102,100 votes against rivals Dino Paredes of Kampi (45, 953) and Isoceles Otero (21,224). Proclaimed Agusan del Sur Vice Governor was incumbent Board Member Santiago Cane who has no opponent. He garnered 108,075 votes. Provincial Board Members who were proclaimed Thursday were Bunilla Dairo, Jenny de Asis, Prochina Magdamit, Alfe Bascug, Alex Alonde, Allan Santiago and former Vice Governor Virginia Getes. - GMANews.TV
