Bukidnon town police chief, deputy killed in grenade blast, cop hunted


(Updated 8:53 a.m.) A police chief of a Bukidnon town and his deputy were killed in a grenade blast in the town police station Monday night.
 
Police are now tracking down a member of the Cabanglasan town police after he was seen running away from the area after the blast, radio dzBB reported early Tuesday.

 
Citing initial information, the report identified the fatalities as town police chief Senior Inspector Crisanto Molina and deputy Inspector Dexter Garcia.

 
Wounded in the incident was the station's 'striker' or errand boy.

A separate report on GMA News' "Saksi" said the victims were eating at the mess hall when the grenade exploded at 7:25 p.m.
 
Investigators are verifying the involvement of a policeman in the incident.
 
According to the dzBB report early Tuesday, one PO1 Gorospe Cairo is being tracked down, after he was reportedly seen fleeing from the area.
