‘Mangkukulam’ shot dead with m-16 in Abra

A 68-year-old man accused of practicing witchcraft was shot dead in his house in San Juan town in Abra province on Wednesday.

 

The victim succumbed to gunshot wounds in the chest and feet, according to a report by GMA Ilocos on Thursday.

 

Neighbors said they heard three gunshots but were afraid to go out of their houses at the time.

 

Police are verifying if the shooting was connected to rumors that the man was practicing witchcraft.

 

"Ito raw pinatay nila ay napabalitang manggagamot, mangkukulam daw siya," said PO1 Rachelle Grace Cabalo, spokesperson of the town police.
