7 students ‘possessed’ in Cebu town

Seven students were brought to a convent and prayed over after they were allegedly possessed while at their school in Barili town in Cebu province on Wednesday afternoon.

The seven were brought to the Sta. Ana parish from the Bartolome and Manuela Pañares Memorial National High School, GMA Cebu's Mark Anthony Bautista reported Thursday on GMA News TV's "Balita Pilipinas Ngayon."

One of the seven, aged 17, recalled a classmate suddenly singing while in the middle of their class. The student then recalled feeling weak and having difficulty breathing, then crying.

Initial investigation showed five fourth-year students, one third-year student, and one Grade 7 student were allegedly possessed.

Some of the supposedly possessed were acting violently and were brought to a hospital to be injected with a sedative.

One of the seven was brought to Mary's Little Children in Talisay City where Cebu Archdiocese exorcist, Fr. Frederick Kriekenbeek, is based.

Meanwhile, the school's stay-in security guard said some students had been brought to the faculty room after experiencing weakness and vomiting.

But the guard said this was the first time he saw some students acting violently supposedly because they were possessed.
