Oplan I Love You: LTFRB Central Visayas cracking down on abusive cabbies on V-day
Taxi drivers in Cebu and other parts of Central Visayas better behave on Valentine's Day as the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board will be watching them.
With "Oplan I Love You," the LTFRB Region 7 is cracking down on cabbies who will not use their meters and instead ask for fixed rates, GMA Cebu's Jun Veligano reported.
Since Thursday, LTFRB representatives distributed materials containing the agency's hotlines for taxi riders to call to report abusive cabbies.
Among the areas where they distributed the hotline were motels, lodging houses and other establishments popular during Valentine's Day.
"Sa Oplan I Love You na dito lang 'yan sa Region-7, nagpapaalala sa mga taxi drivers na dapat gumamit ng metro. Kahit anong araw kung gagamitin ang taxi dapat gumagamit sila ng kanilang metro," said LTFRB Region 7 OIC director Reynaldo Elnar.
Elnar said complainants need only give the taxi's plate number and name.
Offenders will face fines, even as the LTFRB assured complainants their identities will be kept confidential. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
