2 die in Quezon province fire

 A six-year-old child and a 39-year-old man were killed in a fire that hit a store in Mauban town in Quezon province Wednesday night.

The child was trapped inside the restroom of the store, GMA News stringer Peewee Bacuño reported.

On the other hand, a 39-year-old man died after suffering a heart attack while watching the fire.

Photos posted online by Bacuño showed the fire destroying the stores in Mauban.

An investigation showed the fire started at 11 p.m. and was declared out at 12:30 a.m. Thursday.



Residents said Mauban firefighters did not have enough water to fight the fire, and needed help from Sampaloc town and Tayabas City.

Five stores were razed in the fire, even as the Philippine National Police and Bureau of Fire Protection are investigating the cause of the fire. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
