Walang pasok: Some Baguio schools suspend classes after quake
Some schools in Baguio City suspended classes Tuesday morning after a magnitude-4.1 quake rocked the nation's summer capital.
Reports reaching GMA Dagupan indicated St. Louis University suspended classes while University of the Cordilleras resumed classes after an inspection.
For its part, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said the Luzon grid remains intact despite the quake.
It said there had been "no reported cases of power interruptions and damaged transmission facilities in Baguio City, Benguet, and nearby areas" where the earthquake was felt.
A "strong" tremor was felt in Baguio City past 7 a.m. Tuesday after a magnitude-4.1 quake hit the area.
But the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said it does not expect any damage or aftershock from the quake.
Phivolcs said the quake was recorded at 7:14 a.m., with the epicenter at 13 km southeast of Baguio City.
It was tectonic in origin and was felt at Intensity IV in Baguio City.
Phivolcs director Renato Solidum Jr. told dzBB radio the quake was also felt at Intensity IV in La Trinidad, Benguet; and Intensity III in Itogon, Benguet.

No damage or aftershock was expected, however.
An Intensity IV quake is classified as "Strong," and is generally felt by most people indoors and outdoors.
"Many sleeping people are awakened. Some are frightened, some run outdoors. Strong shaking and rocking felt throughout building. Hanging objects swing violently. Dining utensils clatter and clink; some are broken. Small, light and unstable objects may fall or overturn. Liquids spill from filled open containers. Standing vehicles rock noticeably. Shaking of leaves and twigs of trees are noticeable," Phivolcs said in describing an Intensity IV quake. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
