Both victims were heading for Ragay in Camarines Sur from Tagkawayan town in Quezon to inspect their land when they figured in the accident.

Photos tweeted by Bacuño showed the tricycle was wrecked.

An initial investigation showed the tricycle (3866-FR) went out of control after one of its tires burst, and it collided with the oncoming International Harvester trailer truck (101710, trailer plate LUC-726).

Fidel was killed on the spot while Meynard was rushed to the Tagkawayan District Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The tricycle was dragged for 20 meters.

Truck driver Noel Gera, 40, surrendered to police, who are investigating the cause of the collision. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
