4k students to benefit from multi-story schoolbuildings in 10 Cebu towns
Some 4,000 high school students stand to benefit from multi-story schoolbuildings being built in 10 Cebu towns, the provincial government said.
Construction has started with the buildings to be turned over by yearend, an article on the Cebu provincial government's website indicated.
“This is to help prepare for the implementation of the senior high school program starting school year 2016-2017 under the new K-12 curriculum of DepEd,” said Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) Educational Development Unit Executive Director Anthony Dignadice.
Dignadice said the classrooms will have an area of 7×9 meters. They can accommodate up to 60 students.
He also said RAFI is eyeing more school buildings including technical vocational facilities.
Representatives of the Cebu government, RAFI and Department of Education Cebu Division Superintendent Arden Monisit recently signed a memorandum of agreement for the P110-million project.

A two-story building with six classrooms for:
- Sogod’s Mohon NHS
- San Fernando’s Sangat NHS
- Barili’s Mantalongon NHS
- Marikaban Integrated High School (IHS) in Sta. Fe
- Bagalnga IHS in Compostela
A three-story, nine-classroom building in:
A four-story school building with 12 classrooms in:
Under the project, the provincial government provided P39 million as counterpart funding.
