Jolo Revilla back in ICU after surgery – lawyer
(Updated 6:33 p.m.) Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla is back in the intensive care unit of the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City after undergoing surgery related to a gunshot wound he received on Saturday.
In a medical update sent to reporters on Sunday afternoon, lawyer Joel Bodegon said on behalf of the family that the surgery on Revilla took two and a half hours. "Doctors removed half a liter of blood from his lungs," the lawyer said.
“Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla is already back in the ICU of Asian Hospital after a two and a half hour surgical operation where a chest tube was inserted in his body. Doctors removed half a liter of blood from his lungs,” Revilla family representative Amy Manzo also told GMA News Online in a text message.
Doctors have restricted visitors because of Revilla's "delicate condition," Bodegon also said.
"The family is asking the public for more more prayers for Jolo's speedy recovery," he added.
Revilla was brought to the hospital on Saturday for a gunshot wound to the chest. The family has said Revilla accidentally pulled the trigger while cleaning a gun at their house in Ayala Alabang.
