Cavite police gun down two alleged ‘termite gang’ members

Cavite police officers on Sunday night gunned down two alleged members of the "Termite Gang" bank robbers in Bacoor City.

Bacoor police head Superintendent Rommel Estolano told radio dzBB that his men had chanced on the alleged gangsters at a vacant lot near the Aguinaldo Highway.

There were six people in the lot, and when the police team approached, the suspects allegedly shot at them.

While two suspects were killed in the gun fight that followed, four others were able to escape.

Recovered from the scene was a .45 caliber automatic and a .38 caliber revolver.

The “Termite Gang” was responsible for a December bank robbery, during which the gangsters entered the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation branch in Bacoor through a hole under one of the bank's desks and made off with P1.5 million. — Joel Locsin/DVM, GMA News
