BFP: Volunteer fire brigade needed for 8 fire-prone Naga City barangays

The Bureau of Fire Protection on Thursday recommended the establishment of volunteer fire brigades in eight Naga City barangays that are prone to fires.
 

BFP officials said these barangays have houses made of light materials and that are bunched tightly together, GMA Bicol's Mark Bongat reported Friday.

 

Deemed fire-prone are Barangays Abella, Concepcion Pequena, Igualdad, Mabulo, Peñafrancia, Sabang, Santa Cruz, and Triangulo.

 

The BFP suggested that the volunteer fire brigades be set up soonest so they can respond more quickly to fires.

 

Meanwhile, the BFP Naga held an open house where it showed to the public its fire protection and rescue equipment.

 

Its mascot "Berong Ambombero" also entertained visitors at its Naga City office. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
