DPWH completes 3 major road and flood control projects in CDO
Three major infrastructure projects worth P111 million have been completed in Cagayan de Oro City, the Department of Public Works and Highways said Tuesday.
DPWH Region 10 Director Evelyn Barroso, in a report to DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson said it has completed flood control project (flood wall) along the Cagayan River (Cathedral Section), an access road leading to Dao Heritage Tree and Mapawa Nature Park, and the road concreting and drainage project at Berjaya Resettlement Area.
The P49-million 1.9-kilometer tourism road leading to Dao Heritage Tree and Mapawa Nature Park has drainage and slope protection. It will help boost tourism in the city, the DPWH said.
The flood wall along the Cagayan River, measuring five meters tall and 146 lineal meters long, cost P48 million. It now protects structures and residents in the area from flooding, the DPWH said.
Meanwhile, the concreting of 541-lineal-meter circumferential road of Berjaya Resettlement Area allows residents access to goods and services. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
