San Nicolas Lines' 10 ships docked after Mindoro sea tragedy
The operations of eight passenger and two cargo ships of San Nicolas Lines- that also owns the ship that caught fire off Mindoro Occidental island - were suspended by the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) after the said sea tragedy claimed the lives of five people, radio dzBB reported Sunday. The report said an order has been issued by Marina Administrator Vicente Suazo Jr temporarily stopping the operations of the ships pending investigation. DzBB also quoted Arnie Santiago, Marina chief investigator, as saying that Suazo immediately issued the order following the sea tragedy that burned San Nicolas' MV Catalyn-D, believed to be carrying 255 passengers, including those who died from the fire. The same report said Marina also suspended 21 crew members of the ship. - GMANews.TV
