5 hurt as multi-cab collides with taxi in Davao City

At least five people were injured after a mutli-cab they were riding collided with a taxi in Davao City on Tuesday night.

The multi-cab hit the taxi it was following along J.P. Laurel Avenue in Davao City, GMA Davao reported Wednesday.



Taxi driver Armando Delara said he was surprised to hear a sound from behind. The impact had damaged the taxi's rear.

"Nahilo ako, masakit dito (sa batok), nabangga ang likuran ko," said Delara.

Multi-cab driver Giovanni Tejedor admitted he was busy giving change to a customer's fare at the time his vehicle collided with the taxi.

He said he tried to hit the brakes but the multi-cab did not stop in time.

"Oo, hindi ko napansin kasi nag-abot ako ng sukli. Mabagal lang naman ang takbo ko kahit itanong niyo pa," he said. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
