LOOK: Baler barangay teams remind hotels of ‘Chedeng deadline’ for tourists
A day before Typhoon Chedeng (Maysak)'s projected landfall over Aurora province, barangay officials in Baler town on Saturday made the rounds of hotels to remind them to have guests and tourists leave before noon.
Photos posted by radio dzBB's Allan Gatus showed barangay officials at a hotel, reminding its staff of an order to have their guests leave to avoid Chedeng's effects.

Some hotels have agreed to refund their guests or enter into arrangements that would allow the guests to return once the danger shall have passed. On Friday, Baler Mayor Nelianto Bihasa said the local government will forcibly evacuate visitors and tourists who refuse to leave due to the threat from Chedeng.
Tourists and visitors are given until 1 p.m. Saturday to leave, while police and military forces help local officials dissuade arriving tourists and ask them to return after Chedeng is gone.
Also, Aurora imposed a swimming ban starting 6 p.m. Friday. Aurora is one of the areas where Chedeng is projected to make landfall early Sunday.
But as of Saturday morning, dzBB's Gatus reported many tourists were still strolling by the shores of Baler, though no one was swimming or surfing.

Bihasa admitted that while the move means a big loss in revenues from tourism, it is better than safety problems that might arise later on. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA NewsMore Videos
