Hundred Islands tour canceled, tourists stranded due to Chedeng

Tourists who had hoped to spend the weekend at the Hundred Islands in Pangasinan instead found themselves stranded after the Alaminos City tourism office suspended tours Saturday afternoon due to Tropical Storm Chedeng.

GMA Dagupan reported that boat operations in Alaminos City were also limited, also due to the weather.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Information Agency reported that Lingayen town authorities banned swimming of the beaches and forcibly evacuated vacationers from the coast.

The forced evacuations started at 3 p.m. Saturday, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.

Chedeng is expected to make landfall over the Isabela-Aurora coast Sunday morning. — Joel Locsin/DVM, GMA News
