6-year-old girl dead after alleged rape by 12-year-old kin

A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed by a relative - a 12-year-old boy - in Davao City last Holy Thursday in Barangay Manuel Guianga in the city's Tugbok district.

While the boy is now undergoing counseling, the girl's parents are seeking justice, GMA Davao reported Tuesday.

"Pamangkin sa pinsan ko pa naman siya (suspek), pero bakit niya ito ginawa?" said the girl's mother.

Police said the boy admitted molesting the victim, then accidentally pushed her into the river where they were playing.

The boy insisted it was not his intention to push the victim.

The boy's mother could only ask for God's help in this situation her son is in.

The girl's parents want their nephew to be held responsble for their daughter's death.

Namatay pa talaga ang anak ko," said the girl's mother.

Kagagawan yun ng tao," added the girl's father.

For now, the boy is undergoing counseling at a child rehabilitation center in the city. — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
