Teen drowns in Bukidnon spillway

A family outing turned tragic on Thursday after an 18-year-old boy drowned at the spillway of the Tumalaong River in Baungon, Bukidnon.

Murphy John Mangmang failed to surface after jumping into the water, GMA Northern Mindanao reported Friday.

"Hinanap ko ang anak ko sa tubig, hinahanap talaga namin siya. Mga three to five minutes, siguro doon na namin siya nakita," Mangmang's father Emmanuel said.

The teen was rushed to the J.R. Borja Memorial City Hospital in Cagayan de Oro City but doctors could no longer save him.
