Love triangle eyed in Urdaneta shooting

A love triangle is being eyed as a possible motive in the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old man in Urdaneta City in Pangasinan last Saturday.

Victim Rolando Pascua succumbed to gunshot wounds he sustained in the head and body, GMA Dagupan reported Monday.

Pascua had gone to Urdaneta City with a female textmate, but was gunned down upon reaching Barangay Nancalobasaan.

"'Yung suspek at 'yung biktima ay parehas na nanggaling sa Binalonan. Then hinintay nila na napunta sa Urdaneta 'yung biktima, saka niya binaril," said Inspector Anastacio Sibayan of the Urdaneta City police.

But police said the female textmate may have been in cahoots with the killers. The police arrested the textmate and another suspect, believed to be the driver of the gunman, in a follow-up operation.

Sibayan said their investigation showed the suspected gunman, who remains at large, may have been involved in robberies in eastern Pangasinan. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
