Cebu Pacific cancels 6 Manila-Tacloban flights as Romualdez airport shortens runway ops

Another airline has canceled six flights between Manila and Tacloban due to shortened runway operations at the Tacloban Airport.

Cebu Pacific on Tuesday said its six canceled flights involve:

- 5J 651 and 652: Manila–Tacloban–Manila
- 5J 653 and 654: Manila–Tacloban–Manila
- 5J 659 and 660: Manila–Tacloban–Manila

The airline cited the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines' earlier announced shortened runway operations at the Tacloban airport that will be extended until 9 p.m. of April 30.

Cebu Pacific said affected passengers may rebook their flights within 30 days from original departure date or seek a full refund or travel fund.

Last week, AirAsia similarly canceled some of its flights between Manila and Tacloban due to the temporary closure of Daniel Romualdez Airport April 14 to 30, for "runway repair and rehabilitation."  — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
