Red tide alert up over Davao’s Balite Bay, Pangasinan’s Anda and Bolinao

Seafood lovers may have to be cautious of buying shellfish from Balite Bay in Davao Oriental, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources said.

 

In its latest Shellfish Bulletin No. 09, the BFAR said its latest laboratory results showed Balite Bay is positive for the red tide toxin.

 

The BFAR also said the coastal waters of Bolinao and Anda in Pangasinan are still positive for paralytic shellfish poison "beyond the regulatory limit." 

 

Consumers and fishermen are discouraged from harvesting, selling, buying or eating shellfish from these areas. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
