Public lawyer gunned down in Masbate

SORSOGON CITY – A public lawyer was gunned down by two unidentified gunmen in Masbate City Sunday, police said. Slain was Luis Dote, 46, of Rawis village in Legaspi City but who was connected to the Public Attorney’s Office in Mandaon, Masbate. Inspector Leus Prima of the Masbate provincial police said at 2:20 p.m. Sunday, Dote was on board a passenger van from Mandaon when the suspects shot him upon reaching Maingaran village in Masbate City. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot, Prima said. The killing of Dote drew condemnation from Lowell Pellijera, president of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Masbate chapter.l Pellijera called on the authorities to act swiftly on the killing so that justice will be given the victim and his family. - GMANews.TV
