8 killed, 15 hurt in Lanao del Sur ambush

At least eight people were killed while 15 others were injured in an ambush in Lumbaca-Unayan, Lanao del Sur, a television report said Wednesday.

 

GMA News' Unang Balita reported that the victims were on their home after attending a wedding in Marawi City when the group of Barangay Captain Aragasi Batung Ali allegedly fired at them.

 

The victims were mistaken as the killers of a relative of the barangay official, the report said.

 

The report added that the driver, though wounded, tried to bring the truck carrying the victims to a nearby police station.
