2 more brigades join search for Fr Bossi

Two more brigades of soldiers were deployed in Zambonga peninsula and Lanao del Norte province to help the military in its ongoing search and rescue operations for 57-year-old Italian priest Giancarlo Bossi who was abducted on June 10 by 15 armed men. Quoting Armed Forces chief Gen. Hermogenes Esperon Jr, radio dzBB said on Saturday that the military expanded its operations to ensure Bossi's safe release from his captors. Esperon was also quoted as saying that the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) continues to receive information on Bossi's condition, though details of such cannot be made public due to security reasons. The AFP chief reportedly said that the military received reports that Bossi is "weakening" due to the harsh terrain in the area where he is being kept by his captors. - GMANews.TV
