3 Indians, 2 boat crew rescued off Batangas
Five people, including three Indians, were rescued after their motor banca stalled off the coast of Batangas last Sunday, the Philippine Coast Guard said Friday.
The Coast Guard said the incident occurred off Matoco Point in Batangas City, prompting skipper Nicasio Royo to request assistance.
A Coast Guard Batangas team aboard an aluminum boat went to the area and rescued the five, who were identified as:
- Channu Jatti, 38
- Sunil Patravali, 59
- Ashok Mittal, 56
- Nelson Carretas, 39
- boat captain Nicasio Royo, 41
- Sunil Patravali, 59
- Ashok Mittal, 56
- Nelson Carretas, 39
- boat captain Nicasio Royo, 41
All five were safe, the Coast Guard said.
The motor banca was towed to Sitio Ilaya, Barangay Sta. Clara in Batangas City.
