SunStar: Davao fisherman dies at sea

Four days after he left his family to go out to sea, the lifeless body of a fisherman was found floating near Sta. Cruz town in Davao del Sur. Sun Star Davao reported Sunday that police are now trying to see if there was foul play behind the death of Melvin Torres, a resident of Bato village in Sta. Cruz. Fishermen Romeo Maliwang and Lucrecio Morato, both from Astorga in Sta. Cruz, discovered Torres’ body at 8 a.m. Thursday, floating near Sitio Cebulan Baybay in Astorga. Initial investigation showed Torres told his wife last June 17 that he was going out to sea. He has not gone home since then. The initial report did not indicate whether the body bore wounds that would indicate foul play. - GMANews.TV
