Unity walk marks Labor Day observance in Iloilo

Several government officials and labor representatives in Iloilo City marked Labor Day on Friday with an early morning unity walk.

Representatives from various sectors took part in the walk that sought to show unity among laborers, traders and government, GMA Iloilo's Joecel Huesca reported.

"Nagpapakita na rito sa Iloilo City, dahil mayroong unity sa national government officials, sa ating Local officials sa province at sa lahat na sector na gustong sumali, welcome na welcome sila," Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said.

A Facebook post by the city government said the walk was to start from Plaza Libertad, Iloilo Provincial Capitol and near the University of Iloilo and converged at the Freedom Grandstand.

Organizers had expected as many as 10,000 to take part in the walk.
