8 hurt in multicab-tricycle collision in Quezon

At least eight people were seriously injured after a multi-cab hit two tricycles in Sariaya town in Quezon province Friday night.

The incident occurred along the highway at Barangay Guis-Guis in Sariaya shortly after 7 p.m., GMA News correspondent Peewee Bacuño reported.

Rescue teams from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council had a hard time extricating passengers of the two tricycles, needing three hours to do so.

Some of the passengers of the tricycles were thrown out of the vehicles and into the side of the road.

The eight injured were brought to the Quezon Medical Center in Lucena City. They were treated for fractures and wounds.

Witnesses said the multi-cab was speeding when it hit the two tricycles. Police are verifying the information. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
