NGCP: 4-hr power interruption in parts of Zambales

A power interruption lasting up to four hours may occur in parts of Zambales on Friday, May 8, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said.

In an advisory Thursday, the NGCP said the power interruption may affect areas serviced by Zambales Electric Cooperative (ZAMECO) I.

These include Iba, Candelaria, Palauig, Masinloc and Sta. Cruz.

NGCP said the power interruption may last from 8 a.m. to noon.

It said the interruption is to facilitate testing of a surge arrester and the correction of a hot spot at Phase A 69-kilovolt bus side at Botolan Substation, and ZAMECO I's replacement of lightning arrester at Iba Substation. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
