Protesters flock to Cainta town hall
Tension marred the first official day of work of reelected Cainta Mayor Dominic "Mon" Ilagan as protests prompted police to close the town hall's main gates. Radio station dzBB reported Monday that riot police were deployed to the town hall and steel railings placed around it to prevent protesters from getting inside. Employees had a hard time entering the town hall and had to take "alternate" back routes, even as police argued the protesters could "infiltrate" their ranks. Supporters of former mayor Ben Felix had threatened to stage more protest actions against Ilagan, whom they claimed did not deserve to be mayor. Only last week, a bomb threat caused tension at the town hall, but it turned out to be a false alarm. - GMANews.TV
