NPA releases 2 BJMP guards abducted in Surigao del Sur in April


Communist New People's Army rebels on Thursday released two Bureau of Jail Management and Penology guards abducted in Surigao del Sur last month.
 
The two jail guards were abducted on April 26 in Barangay Amontay in Marihatag town and held in captivity for 24 days, GMA Davao reported.
 
Three of their colleagues were reportedly wounded during the incident.
 
Both jail guards, who were released to Gov. Johnny Pimentel and Bishop Nereo Odchimar, said they were treated well by the NPAs. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
