Boy abducted in Sulu last March returned to family

A seven-year-old boy who was abducted last March was returned to his family in Sulu province by two motorcycle-riding men on Saturday night, police said.

The boy, a pupil of Hadji Butu Elementary School was brought to the house of his uncle at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, GMA News correspondent Peewee Bacuño reported Sunday.

Police said four unidentified people abducted the boy last March 10 at Haji Butu Street in Barangay Asturias, Jolo, Sulu.

Citing initial findings, the police said the two men who brought the boy to the house of his uncle sped off after he disembarked.

His father reported the release to police Sunday morning. Police are still verifying the motive for the abduction. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
