4 Koreans nabbed, charged in Cebu for offering ‘sex tours’
Four Koreans were arrested over the weekend in Cebu for their alleged involvement in a sex tour racket.
The four underwent inquest proceedings and human trafficking charges were filed against them Monday afternoon, GMA Cebu's Chona Carreon reported.
Charged were Wongun Ji, Jung Hyun Kim, Dong Jun Lee, and Gangil Jeung
The suspects' lawyer Xzajyk Caing declined to comment on the case, but said prosecutor Rosu Zaragosa gave them a week to submit their counter-affidavit.
National Bureau of Investigation agents arrested the four last Friday over allegations they violated the Expanded Human Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012.
The NBI got a tip from a Korean client, who accused the four of offering sex tour packages to fellow Koreans.
Investigation showed the suspects would offer tour packages in Cebu costing up to P70,000. The packages allegedly included sex with Filipinas.
The suspects were found to be operating a website where they conducted the transactions and were caught in a sting operation at their rented condominium in Banilad.
Seized from them were laptops, hard drives and other equipment.
Meanwhile, the NBI is verifying the particulars of a certain Peter Lim, who was tagged as the four Koreans' local contact.
The report also said a certain Ken Tuadles, supposedly a policeman and an alleged bodyguard of Lim, sought to help out the suspects.
Tuadles, supposedly accompanied by two Koreans, allegedly tried to bribe the NBI into releasing the suspects. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
