SunStar: CDO folk fear rumors about breast-slicing cult
Urban legend or not, residents in Cagayan de Oro City are now edgy over rumors of a cult that murders girls and lops off their breasts. Sun Star Cagayan De Oro reported Sunday that residents and officials in the city have asked police to verify reports of the cult allegedly operating in the area. Text messages detailing the supposed cultâs activities had been spreading through text messages since last June. The messages said the cult takes the victimsâ breasts as a âtoken." All the messages contained warnings to young girls and all women not to go out on her own at night as âit is no longer safe." One text message claimed the group even operates in Jasaan town in Misamis Oriental province. The Sun-Star report said one of the supposed latest victims was a seven-months-pregnant woman of Bulua village in the city. Her breasts were also sliced off, the text message claimed. âIt is no longer safe. Refrain from going out late at night. If you must, go out in groups it is better to be safe than sorry," the text message read. But Cagayan de Oro City police director Sr. Supt. Aurelio Trampe said his men at the Carmen precinct did not receive any report of a woman being murdered with breasts sliced off. Still, residents and officials including Misamis Oriental vice governor Norris Babiera and city councilor Teodulfo Lao urged police to remain vigilant. - GMANews.TV
