Five 'salvage' victims found in Batangas


The bodies of five people feared to be victims of summary executions were discovered early Monday morning in Tanauan City and Talisay town in Batangas. Radio station dzMM reported that two bodies were found in Tanauan at about 6 a.m. The first victim, aged between 40 to 45 years old, was found in Balele village while the second one, believed to be 17 to 25 years old, was recovered in Barangay (village) Talaga. About the same time, the police also discovered three other bodies, this time in Talisay town. The report did not immediately give the gender or age of the three victims. All five bodies bore various gunshot wounds. Local authorities are looking for a possible connection between the incidents since the victims' bodies were discovered at about the same time. Tanauan police chief Supt. Francisco Rodriguez assured they already have a lead as to who perpetrated the killings. Tanauan City is a third class city in the province of Batangas with a population of 117,539 people in 21,912 households. Meanwhile, Talisay town is a fourth class municipality with a population of 32,465 people in 6,246 households. - GMANews.TV
