Camarines Sur man arrested after CCTV camera catches him beating his wife

A man was arrested in Iriga City, Camarines Sur after a CCTV camera caught him beating his wife on a street.

 

In the video footage shown in a report on GMA's "24 Oras" aired Saturday night, the suspect was seen following his wife and subsequently pushing her down the street.


 

The suspect then took out a knife and acted like he was about to stab his downed wife. He then started kicking her while she on the ground.

 

Two police officers were able to immediately apprehend the suspect after the incident.

 

P03 Marsha Aquiller of the Iriga City Police said the CCTV cameras in the city have greatly helped police operations there and more will be needed to improve anti-crime activities.

 

“Mas maganda kung buong sentro magkaroon na ng CCTV kasi minsan aware na ang mga kriminal kung saan nakaposisyon 'yung CCTV kaya pupunta sila sa place na walang CCTV at doon gagawa ng krimen,” Aquiller said.
