Calasiao, Pangasinan to get new slaughterhouse before yearend
Bago at modernong slaughterhouse sa bayan ng Calasiao, Pangasinan, posibleng mapakinabangan bago matapos ang 2015!

Residents in Calasiao town in Pangasinan and nearby areas may soon be assured of cleanly prepared meat as a modern P10-million slaughterhouse there is scheduled to be fully operational before yearend.
The slaughterhouse is 80 percent complete and could be operational as early as August, GMA Dagupan's Joyce Segui reported Wednesday on "24 Oras North Central Luzon."
Officials in Calasiao expect this to lessen the number of cases where animals are slaughtered in houses - which they said may not be sanitary.
"Maiwasan ang pagkatay sa labas ng iba't ibang hayop gaya ng kambing at baboy," said Dr. Jorge Bandong, veterinarian and municipal meat inspector.
Work on the slaughterhouse started in 2013. On Monday, a dry run was held for the machinery in the slaughterhouse.
Town officials believe the slaughterhouse will benefit neighboring areas as well, while bringing extra income for Calasiao.
"Malaking tulong din yun kasi siyempre additional income din yan tapos matutulungan ang ibang (area) gaya ng Dagupan kasi wala silang slaughterhouse," said Marlyn Manongdo, Calasiao's economic enterprise officer. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
